Tron (TRX): All you need to know about the Tron Independent Group

Tron (TRX) completed its token migration and initiated its MainNet on June 25, at 10 am. The initiation was completed by Tron Independent Group (TIG).

What is Tron Independent Group?

It is a community consensus-based group that consists of 27 anonymous, volunteering Genesis Representatives (GR). TIG is in-charge of completing the process until the transitioning period gets over and GRs are being replaced by other SRs. The responsibilities of TIG is to provide Super Representatives (SR) with the fast track for the TRX exchange. TIG is also supposed to provide the candidates with TRX at the earliest possible time so that the candidates can file an application for SR.

Tron founder Justin Sun tweeted praising the group calling them the “heroes”. The “volunteers who make the $TRX migration so quick and easy” and safeguard millions of $TRX during the token migration period. This is true as TIG was entrusted with the 342 million TRX held by the foundation, as mentioned by Medium. It was TIG’s responsibility to store and distributed them in a manner that the risk of the asset is significantly reduced. The amount was to be stored in 1000 different addresses to minimize the risk. The addresses will be announced within 3 days. It will also be providing an address tracker so that the stakeholders and the entire community gets first-hand information.

The 12-hour-long live stream that started at 10 am and is still going on is organized by the TIG. It’s live on Youtube, Facebook, Periscope, and Yizhibo, giving all the SR candidates a platform and a medium for the community and stakeholders to receive the recent information. During the streaming, a small number of TRX will be handed out so that Tron community members could test the various features of the Tron MainNet.

Meanwhile, Tron Super Representative elections are about to start on June 26, that is, in a few hours. After the successful completion of the election, 27 representatives will be elected out of the one million proponents. In future, these SRs will play a major role in the governance structure of the firm. They’ll be the guardian of the Tron network and actively participate in validation of the network and calculation.
